Enzyme engineering and nanotechnology; nanostructured biocatalysts for biotransformations; enzymatic synthesis of biofuels, biopolymers, and specialty chemicals; biofuel cells; artificial cells; and liquid membrane bioreactors.

Bio

Ping Wang is interested in enzyme engineering and nanobiotechnology. Benefiting from the latest advances in enzymology, protein engineering and materials science, the Wang lab explores novel biocatalysis and bioproducts for areas of energy, environment and biomedical applications. Ping’s current research includes enzymatic synthesis of biofuels, biopolymers and specialty chemicals, as well as nanoscale bioactive structures for functional smart materials, biofuel cells, biosensors and micro bioreactors.
