Research Interests

Impact of microbiota disruptions on diseases and conditions; using principles of microbial ecology and next-generation sequencing technologies to develop microbiota-based therapies.

Bio

Christopher Staley’s research focus is to characterize how disruptions to intestinal microbiota affect the onset and progression of diseases and conditions (e.g., obesity, colorectal cancer, and inflammatory bowel diseases). By applying microbial ecology principles and leveraging next-generation sequencing technologies, the goal of the Staley lab is to develop targeted, microbiota-based therapies to improve patient outcomes.
