Research in the Santelli Lab seeks to understand the fate and distribution of contaminants and key nutrients in the environment, interactions of microorganisms with contaminants, and microbial detoxification or transformation mechanisms. We utilize a wide range of geochemical, microbiological, and genomic-based approaches for environmental remediation, resource recovery, and biomineral/bioproduct synthesis applications.
