Dr. Wang uses metabolomics, 13C-metabolic flux analysis, and genome-scale modeling to study the cellular metabolism, and use the learned information to guide synthetic biology effort. His goal is to establish a repeatable systems metabolic engineering workflow – the Design-Build-Test-Learn (DBTL) cycle, to accelerate both our understanding of life and engineering organisms for novel traits.
